The KHJN Support Fund Coordinator supports our Practical Support & Abortion Funding direct service program.

Deadline to apply: April 9, 2021
Projected start date: May 10, 2021
Position type: Part Time (20-25 hours per week)
Salary: $20 per hour
Benefits: $50 monthly cell phone stipend
Location: Remote work option. Preference for a resident of Kentuckiana. Employee must be able to travel to Louisville KY 2-4 times per year.
Schedule: Flexible hours; some co-working hours required
Reports to: Support Fund Director

KHJN supports Kentuckians towards achieving autonomy in our lives and justice for our communities. We advocate, educate, and provide direct services to ensure all Kentucky communities and individuals have power, access, and resources to be healthy and have agency over our lives.

Program description
KHJN’s Abortion Support Fund is a Caller Facing Practical Support Abortion Fund. This staff supported, volunteer powered direct support program provides our Abortion Support Fund callers with accompaniment, funding, transportation, lodging and more. 

Position Requirements
  • An unwavering commitment to the preservation, expansion, and normalization of abortion access at any point in pregnancy.
  • A working understanding of the Reproductive Justice framework.
  • Ability to produce quality work as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Reasonable proficiency with the Google Suite and other basic tech platforms.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills.

Role Responsibilities

  • A working understanding of the abortion access landscape in and around Kentucky including legislative & cultural barriers and resources available.
  • Support program staff & volunteers in maintenance and upkeep of accurate case management resources
  • Follow best practices to ensure safe and secure data management
  • Assist with day-to-day support of Support Fund Volunteers including:
    • Scheduling; training; support troubleshooting unique casework; accurate & secure data tracking & storage
    • Cultivation of an agile and supportive community for our case managers who take on emotional labor while volunteering.
    • Occasional support with lodging and transportation arrangements.
    • Other tasks to support program functionality.
  • Engage community members in ways that align with KHJN’s values
    • Caller/community resources, outreach, & PR.
    • Volunteer & supporter cultivation through political home stewardship.
    • Support an active leadership pipeline which acknowledges that community members are also (potential) callers, donors, volunteers, and leaders.
